Luminous weekends are thoughtfully hosted gatherings in beautiful spa hotels around Ireland, for small groups of women.
The hotels are chosen for their grounds as much as their spas, most of them sitting on estates with stunning gardens and woodlands to explore.
A bit of indulgence. The massage you've been meaning to book for yourself for months. A fluffy bathrobe. A dip in the jacuzzi. A reset in the sauna, and a cold plunge if you're feeling brave.
Mornings start with some gentle wellness practices. Nothing strenuous, nothing you need experience for.
Good food and a nice group of people to share it with. You're back by Sunday feeling recharged and with some perspective on the day to day challenges of life.
What makes you feel good when life gets a bit overwhelming? For me, it's a nice hotel. My nervous system instantly calms. The sense of care you feel. I am safe here. I can relax here. The beauty of the space. The luxury. The indulgence.
This is something I used to do when I lived in London, working in property development and real estate investment for twenty years. I sat in front of a board of fund managers and got regularly quizzed on the performance of my projects. I sat in front of the owners of businesses worth billions. There was a lot of juggling, and it got pretty intense at times. I thrived, until I didn't. Eventually your body says no.
When I got close to my limit, I took myself away to a nice hotel for the weekend, hung out in my fluffy bathrobe, ordered room service and slept. I went back to my life feeling recharged, like I could handle it all again.
Even now, when it all feels a bit much, I take myself to a really nice hotel. I grab a coffee or a G&T, and I feel better. Instant calm.
I have a theory that a lot of us are lonely and feel a bit overwhelmed by life at times. I want to create something that offers this experience to others, but this time in community.
I've called it Luminous because my wish is that after a weekend away, you go back to your life feeling lighter, brighter, and more Luminous.

A night together in one of Ireland's most glamorous 5-star hotels, with spa facilities to match. Set on the Powerscourt Estate in the Wicklow mountains. Sika restaurant is incredible, the kind of meal you'll still be talking about weeks later. Good company, gentle wellness practices, beautiful surroundings, less than an hour from Dublin. A small group of eight to ten women.

Two nights at Carton House, a five-star Fairmont hotel with serious wow factor. A Georgian country house set in beautiful grounds, less than an hour from Dublin. We'll enjoy the spa, explore the grounds, gather together for our wellness practices, and get dressed up on Saturday night for dinner at the Michelin-starred Morrison Room. Something to look forward to after Christmas, when January is feeling long. A small group of eight to ten women.
